Version 3.6.0 is a quality-of-life release focused on two things: making the Cycle Time Scatterplot more informative at a glance, and removing friction for admins and approved users who switch between projects. Four targeted improvements ship in this version — here's what changed and why.
Rich Tooltips on the Scatterplot
Each dot on the Cycle Time Scatterplot now shows a detailed card when you hover over it, so you can inspect any work item without leaving the chart.
- Work item title and ID with a colour-coded type badge (Story, Bug, Research) matching the dot colour.
- Cycle Time and Lead Time shown side-by-side — instantly compare queue time versus active work time.
- Active date range: when the item entered active work through to its completion date.
- A direct "Open in ADO →" link so you can jump straight to the item in Azure DevOps without searching.
- Edge-aware positioning: the card flips left automatically when the dot is near the right edge of the chart.
Smarter Setup Banner for Known Users
Switching between projects in the same Azure DevOps organisation no longer re-triggers the setup banner for users who have already completed onboarding.
- Confirmed admins and approved users no longer see setup recommendations after initial setup is complete.
- The setup banner and view-block guard are suppressed on every subsequent project switch.
- First-time installs and non-bootstrapped organisations still see the full guided setup flow.
Workflow Mapping Done Once, Org-Wide
The setup checklist previously required a workflow mapping to be saved for each project individually. That check is now organisation-scoped.
- If workflow mapping is configured for any project in the organisation, the checklist step shows as complete.
- No more "Required: Configure Workflow Mapping" prompts each time an admin switches to a new project.
- Admins configure mapping once and move freely across projects without repeated prompts.
Accurate Cycle/Lead Time in Every Mode
When the Cycle Time Scatterplot is in Lead Time axis mode, the tooltip previously relabelled lead days as "Cycle Time". Both values are now always correct.
- Cycle Time in the tooltip always shows the true cycle start → completion duration.
- Lead Time always shows the creation → completion span.
- Both values appear together in the tooltip regardless of which axis mode is active.
Update to 3.6.0 from the VS Marketplace to get all of these improvements immediately.
