Last updated: April 11, 2026
1. Introduction
Copilot AI Metrics for Jira is a Jira Cloud Forge app that combines GitHub Copilot adoption analytics with Jira delivery context through a dashboard gadget and global page. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app may access, how it is used, and how administrators can control connected settings.
2. What Data the App Accesses
The app may read and process the following categories of information:
- Jira issue metadata such as summary, status, dates, assignee, reporter, comments, project, issue type, and priority
- GitHub Copilot billing and seat data
- GitHub Copilot usage metrics and aggregate analytics
3. Purpose of Data Use
This information is used to:
- Build dashboards and KPI views inside Jira Cloud
- Display contributor and team analytics
- Show trends, adoption patterns, and recommended actions
- Support setup, admin configuration, and live reporting workflows
4. Where Data Is Stored
GitHub Personal Access Tokens and optional custom API keys are intended to be stored in Atlassian Forge encrypted storage. Non-secret settings may be stored in browser local storage for convenience and UI continuity.
Examples of non-secret local settings may include:
- Date range preferences
- Provider choice
- Demo mode state
- Jira scope selections such as project and issue type filters
- Notification or interface preferences
5. What the App Does Not Do
- It does not store secrets in the browser
- It does not modify Jira issues
- It does not sell personal data
- It does not send unrelated analytics to third parties
- It only contacts GitHub where needed for Copilot data retrieval
6. Third-Party Services
- Atlassian Forge / Jira Cloud
- GitHub API (
api.github.com)
7. Data Retention
Secrets remain in Forge storage until deleted by an administrator or until the app is uninstalled. Non-secret browser settings remain until they are cleared, reset, or overwritten by the user or administrator.
8. User and Admin Controls
- Administrators can remove stored credentials
- Administrators can reset non-secret settings
