Why this release exists
Until this week, if you wanted to ask us a question from inside the extension, you had to know to click your avatar, then click Feedback. Two menu clicks deep, with no visible breadcrumb that the option even existed. We heard from customers who'd been using the extension for weeks without realising they could reach us directly that way. 6.15.6 moves the conversation back to where it belongs: a persistent button in the dashboard top bar, reachable from any view in one click. We also took the chance to clean up the Help & Support page itself โ three paths instead of four cards that all did the same thing.
New: ๐ Ask Henry button in the dashboard top bar
A small green pill button now sits between the breadcrumb and the Light/Dark toggle on every view in the hub. Clicking it opens a 30-second form in a new browser tab โ questions, ideas, bugs, feedback, anything. Henry personally reads every message and replies within 24 hours. The button is intentionally subtle so it does not compete with your actual work, but it is always in the same spot. You no longer have to remember which menu the feedback link was hiding in. The same Ask Henry CTA is now on the homepage and the pricing page of the website too, so prospects evaluating the product before installing can reach us the same way installed customers can.
Help & Support: four cards became three
The old Help & Support page had four cards โ Ask a Question, Report a Bug, Request a Feature, Rate Us โ and three of the four buttons routed to the same form. That is the textbook definition of a false-choice problem: a page looks complete by offering many options, but in practice users have to read three labels to realise the choice does not matter. The new design has three cards, each leading to a genuinely different destination: Ask Henry (Google Form), Book a Call (15-minute Google Calendar booking โ same calendar that the pricing page already exposes), and Rate Us (Visual Studio Marketplace review page). Each card has microcopy that names the intent and sets the expected response time, so the choice is obvious before you click.
Updating
Auto-update from the Marketplace; no admin action required. No new Azure DevOps scopes, no re-authorisation prompt, no consent screen. Every Configuration setting, license, workflow mapping, item-type mapping, access-control ACL, and dashboard preference is preserved exactly. The first time you open the hub after the upgrade, the in-product What's New popup will show the v6.15.6 highlights once and then dismiss permanently. New installs: grab v6.15.6 from the Marketplace listing at https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Baytek.agile-analytics.
