Version 4.0 is the first major release of Agile Analytics. It adds two entirely new views — AI Metrics and AIIP — that turn the extension into a complete AI governance platform alongside its existing sprint and flow analytics. Three Azure DevOps dashboard widgets round out the release. All existing views, tier gating, dark mode, and SDK integrations are fully intact.
AI Metrics — Company-Wide AI Adoption Dashboard
A new view for any user (Starter tier and above). Tracks AI tool adoption across your entire organization. Connects to GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or a Custom API endpoint. Shows realistic demo data until a live source is connected — the full UI is explorable immediately on install.
- Overview tab: four stat cards (Active Users, Acceptance Rate, Suggestions Generated, Teams Active), trend chart, Setup Roadmap, and Custom KPIs.
- Users tab: Top 10 and Bottom 10 users by acceptance rate — surfaces engaged and at-risk individuals.
- Teams tab: Team / Manager Leaderboard sorted by acceptance rate and suggestions volume.
- Insights tab: Actionable adoption insights with recommended next steps.
- Settings tab (admin): Connect GitHub Copilot (org + token), Microsoft 365 Copilot (tenant ID + credentials), or a Custom API endpoint. Test Connection validates before saving.
- Export button enabled only when a live AI data source is connected.
- DEMO DATA badge visible until a live connection is established.
AIIP — AI Improvement & Intervention Panel
An admin-only companion panel for acting on adoption signals. Surfaces automated alerts, tracks interventions, celebrates milestones, and routes Teams webhook notifications per team.
- Alerts tab: severity-coded cards (Critical / Warning / Info) for low-usage, high-rejection-rate, sudden-drop, milestone, and improvement events. Acknowledge and Resolve actions. Active Alert count badge in the header.
- Interventions tab: training, reminder, and documentation items linked to official Microsoft Learn and GitHub Docs resources. Mark Done updates status inline.
- Celebrations tab: milestone achievement cards surfaced automatically when users hit acceptance rate records.
- Settings tab: Teams webhook per team (+ Add gated until team name and URL are both provided), Alert Types toggles, Alert Thresholds (configurable numeric values), Privacy & Compliance section.
- Audit tab: chronological log of all admin actions (acknowledge, resolve, mark done, settings changes).
Dashboard Widgets
Three Azure DevOps dashboard widgets are now available in the widget catalog under the Agile Analytics category. Add them to any project dashboard alongside your other ADO widgets.
- Team Health widget — 1×2 or 2×2: health score, grade, and throughput trend for a selected team.
- Cycle Time widget — 2×2 or 2×4: P50 and P85 cycle time trends over the last 6 sprints.
- Throughput widget — 2×2 or 2×4: throughput per sprint bar chart for the last 6 sprints.
- All widgets share the existing configuration panel (team and project selector).
What Did Not Change
All existing sprint health, flow analytics, portfolio, and agile coach views are unchanged. AI Metrics and AIIP are both available at the Starter tier. The sidebar navigation, command palette, and breadcrumbs introduced in 3.8 are unchanged.
Update to 4.0.0 from the VS Marketplace. No configuration migration needed. AI Metrics and AIIP appear in the sidebar immediately — they show demo data until an admin connects a live AI data source.
